Feynman was a fascinating individual in the way he discovered things. His high degree of curiosity drove him to discover a method of learning not just memorizing facts. But rather understand them. Often times we confuse memorization to understanding. Here is the difference; memorization is knowing the name of something, whereas understanding something is being able to explain it in detail in plane language. That was Feynman's superpower. His method of learning is meant for long term understanding of the concepts. A student may memorize that water boils at 100°C. Another student understands that boiling occurs when the liquid's vapor pressure equals atmospheric pressure. The first student remembers a fact. The second can explain why water boils at different temperatures on a mountain than at sea level Using his method of learning, students can improve their understanding of hard concepts, and remember them even after along period of time. The problem with rote memorization often leads to information being forgotten soon after examinations because the ideas were never deeply understood. Feynman's technique teaches you learn deeply from memory. It is unfortunate that when we start school, we are not taught how to learn, but rather we are expected to learn how to learn. And at the end of the day expected to understand and pass examinations. Learning to learn should be the very first class taught to students before they are encouraged to learn any concepts. It would increase their interest in learning, improve their understanding of concepts and facts. In fact, the Feynman technique and the Mortimer Adler reading techniques from his book - How to read a book , should be taught in school if really the aim is for students to learn and understand. If you master those the Feynman techniques of learning and the techniques outline in Adler's book you become exceptional at learning. In the world full of information, learning effectively and fast gives you an advantage over your competition. Learning to understand should always be the aim of any reader be it a student, professors, or a professional. Your ability to understand and retain information become the bedrock for success in the field of interest. In an age where information is abundant and artificial intelligence can retrieve facts instantly, the true competitive advantage is no longer remembering more information. It is understanding information deeply enough to question it, explain it clearly, and apply it creatively. That is the kind of learning that lasts.
The " I don't know prayer"
Did you know there's a prayer called the "I DON'T KNOW" PRAYER?
You just go somewhere quiet(before the Blessed Sacrament for me),
and you sit at the feet of God and say;
" I don't know".
I don't know where to go from here.
I don't know what's happening. I don't know how to process this. I don't know what to do with the emotions . I don't know how to handle the situations.
And then with whatever little grain of faith you have,you say,
"But You know ,"
Sit in silence for a while ,
Say Amen ,and you leave!Someone needs to hear this:
God is going to provide for you,the one who multiplied loaves,and rained manna from heaven has not forgotten you. He sees the rent due,the bills piling,and the silent prayers whispered.
What feels tight now,is only temporary, provision, and abundance are coming !!

Ja, vi kan gå.

Vi kan gå och inte mer synda.
Vi kan se vår fiende i ögonen och sträcka ut en hand.

Vi är ett spädbarn, en åldring, en mamma, en pappa, ett barn. Vi är en.
Ja, nog var det en märklig upplevelse de fick vara med om där på förklaringsberget och Petrus, den mest handlingskraftige lärjungen, han ville bygga hyddor till Jesus, Elia och Moses. Bevara ett magiskt nu – hålla fast i en unik upplevelse – institutionalisera närvaron av Elia, Mose tillsammans med Jesus för eftervärlden. Alltmedan meningen med upplevelsen sannolikt var att stärka Petrus, Johannes och Jakob í deras egna övertygelser att Jesus verkligen var den han utgav sig för att vara. ”Detta är min son, den utvalde. Lyssna till honom”.
Händelsen på berget omges av handlingar där Jesus utför mirakler. Det stora med Jesus var dock inte alla yttre mirakler. Det stora var Jesu förmåga att få den nedtryckte att resa sig, den skamfyllde att inse sitt värde, den som varit på undantag att våga ta ett steg fram.
Hjärtats frihet. Hjärtats innerlighet. Ljuset som kommer inifrån och ut.
Att den som drabbas av detta ljus, om det väl får fäste djupt där inne i bröstet i en människa, ofta blir förlorad – ljuset. Vill inte leva utan – ljuset.
Här finns ofta en konflikt till alla härskare. Ljuset gör individen fri. Inte för inte har olika härskare genom historiens gång blivit provocerade av detta ljus, att den som omfamnas av ljuset tycks ha skänkts en insikt och en inre frihet som gör att man inte längre är rädd för härskaren.
Ett ljus som står i konflikt med gängse förklaringsmodeller och allfartsvägar – gängse tankar och tankemönster – de vill fylla oss med – de som bestämmer. De som så ofta ropat krig då mänskligheten önskat fred.
De som med lögn och hotets retorik vill få oss att tänka svart och vitt, fiende eller vän – ställa sig i vägen för insikten att vi alla är en mänsklighet,
ett spädbarn,
en sårbar åldring,
ett sårbart barn som sträcker sina händer emot dig och mig.
Oavsett var.
Oavsett i vilket land – på rymdskeppet – detta sårbara – underbara – fantastiska – rymdskeppet Jorden.
Aposteln Paulus skriver i Efesierbrevet 6 om ondskans andemakter i himlarymderna – hur denna ondska i alla tider sökt få oss att slå på krigstrumman.
”Hata” domderar trumman – ”tänk kategoriskt, jag vill polarisera, härska i fruktan – genom split!”
Alltmedan Jesus Kristus gjorde det motsatta. Han tog fiendernas händer, slaven och herremannens händer och fick dem för en kort stund att se människan i den andre. Och genom denna igenkännandets glädje förvandlas inifrån och ut.
I sitt avskedstal sa Jesus till lärjungarna att de som säger ja till honom skulle stanna i honom, tillhöra honom. Att de som tydde sig till honom fyllde han med sitt ljus. Och så tillade Jesus i sitt avskedstal, världens furste kommer att ogilla alla som gör det valet.
För så är det, världens furste, han med trumman, han som vill slå split, han som vill få oss att glömma att mänskligheten är en, gillar inte Jesus.
Så här har det varit länge, kanske sedan tidernas begynnelse. Och vi lever idag i en tid då denna motsättning, denna kamp mellan död och liv, sällan har varit mer tydlig än nu.
Vad gjorde Jesus när hopen ville stena en kvinna som begått äktenskapsbrott? Männen vände sig till Jesus och sa: ”Nå, det borde du väl begripa, Jesus – så står det ju i lagen, i regelhandboken, i matrisen. Ger vi efter nu så är vi förlorade. Vi måste stena henne till döds!”
Jesus såg tillbaka – såg dem var och en i ögonen och sa att den av dem som var utan skuld kunde kasta den första stenen. Alla lommade iväg, en efter en. Utan att kasta sin sten, sina stenar.
Inte heller jag dömer dig sa Jesus till kvinnan – han gick fram och sa: ”Gå och synda inte mer.”
Ja, vi kan gå.
Vi är frisläppta – borgen är betald.
Vi kan gå och inte mer synda.
Vi kan se vår fiende i ögonen och sträcka ut en hand.
På rymdskeppet Jorden.
Vi är ett spädbarn, en åldring, en mamma, en pappa, ett barn. Vi är en.
Denna hållning har Jesus berett vägen för.
Den ligger, teoretiskt sett, inom möjlighetens ramar.
Detta är den största gåvan given till mänskligheten.
Jag läser ur Johannesevangeliet kapitel 8: ”Jag är världens ljus. Den som följer mig skall inte vandra i mörkret, utan han skall ha livets ljus.”
Och ur Johannesevangeliet kapitel 17: ”Jag ber att de alla skall vara ett, så som du, Fader, är i mig och jag i dig. Må också de vara i oss”
