Have you ever heard of the, Prayer to the Sleeping St. Joseph?? St. Joseph is often shown sleeping in statues because, according to the Bible, God spoke to him several times through dreams, telling him to care for Mary, protect the baby Jesus, and move the family to safety. Many people, both Catholic and others who respect Catholic traditions, pray to Saint Joseph while he is pictured sleeping. The idea is simple: just as Joseph listened quietly to God in his sleep, he can now calmly bring your worries or requests to God on your behalf. Paulus skickade bud från Miletos till Efesos och kallade till sig församlingens äldste. När de infunnit sig sade han till dem: »Ni vet hur jag har uppträtt bland er hela tiden, från första dagen jag kom hit till Asien. Jag har tjänat Herren i all ödmjukhet, under tårar och under prövningar som jag har utsatts för genom judarnas anslag. Jag har inte varit rädd för att låta er veta det som gagnar er, utan har undervisat er om det, offentligt och i hemmen, och jag har enträget uppmanat både judar och greker att omvända sig till Gud och tro på vår herre Jesus. Nu känner jag mig tvingad att resa till Jerusalem utan att veta vad som skall möta mig där. Jag vet bara att den helige Ande i stad efter stad försäkrar att bojor och lidanden väntar mig. Men jag anser inte att mitt liv har något värde för mig; jag vill bara fullborda mitt lopp och det uppdrag som jag har fått av herren Jesus: att vittna om Guds nåderika evangelium.
Och nu ser ni mig aldrig mer, det vet jag, alla ni som jag har besökt och förkunnat riket för. Därför vill jag denna dag bedyra att jag är utan skuld om någon går förlorad. Ty jag har inte varit rädd för att delge er allt som hör till Guds plan.
