Abba Veil of Veronica A Catholic Mom’s Spiritual Journey About Susan Skinner Prayer Books for Family Healing Audio and Video Witness Talks ← Purgatory is Real You have need of Nothing Posted on March 9, 2026 by veilofveronica Blessed Aleandra Maria Da Costa And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ For it is the gentiles who seek all these things, and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God[ and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. “So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Mtthew 6:28-33 On Saturday evening March 7, 2026, I went to the Vigil Mass. As I entered into Mass, I had a lot on my mind. I was troubled by the news of war in Iran and the prophecies of World War III. My heart was heavy and I prayed to the Lord to let him know. As the consecration came, I was overwhelmed by a sense of profound peace and gratitude. The sense I got from the Lord was that there is nothing to be afraid of and that His grace really is enough. I sensed too that God wants us to stop relying on ourselves so much. We try and try to plan and think of future possibilities and this actually blocks us from relying totally on Him. When it comes to planning we need to listen to what He is telling us and not to the noise of the world. He showed me Blessed Alexandra Maria Da Costa. She is a Saint who subsisted on the Eucharist alone without any other food or water. It was not lost on me that the reading was the woman at the well. but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.” The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I may never be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water.” John 4:14-15 Though for most of us this is a Spiritual Truth of baptism, for Alexandra, it was literally true. He really is enough. That is what I felt. I recorded in my journal what I felt God speaking to me. If the church says what I have written is wrong, then the church is correct and I am not. Know that as you discern. March 7, 2026 Beloved Lily of the Father, There is so much fear in the world. Do you not know that you have nothing to be afraid of? You cannot be defiled by things on the outside, it is what is in your heart that can defile or sanctify. Therefore, set your eyes always on me. You do not think enough of me. I can sustain you. You need nothing but me. Do not cling to your worldly ways, but surrender all that you are and all that you have to me and you will be in need of nothing because you will have everything of me. You will have your inheritance. A wellspring of living water welling up inside of you, the font of life. You will not hunger or thirst. You look around and see darkness and evil. I make all things transparent. These things must come. Let them draw you nearer and nearer to me. Never doubt my goodness. I am preparing you for a New Pentecost. You will do greater things because you will be in my will. Every kind of fruit tree will grow, the leaves will not wither, nor the fruit fail, because you are to be perfected in love. You are a temple. The temple houses me. You are a sanctuary, the river of life flows out. A wellspring of eternal life. Do not be afraid. I say again, do not be afraid. Eat from the tree of life and live. You have been chosen for these times. The fire St. Patrick lit that led to Ireland’s conversion Peter Gavigan | Wikipedia CC BY-SA 3.0Philip Kosloski – published on 03/16/19 – updated on 03/09/26 The pagan druids were astonished at what happened and many converted to Christianity because of it.Lenten campaign 2026 Not long after St. Patrick returned to Ireland to preach the Gospel to the pagan population, he made preparations for the celebration of Easter. It was customary for Christians to light a bonfire at the Easter Vigil (in honor of Jesus, the ”light of the world”) and so St. Patrick set up his fire to be quite large and visible for miles around. The local druids were furious, as it was a tradition in the region on the very same night that no one could light a fire until the king’s fire was lit by the druid priests. Death was the penalty for anyone who defied this law. The druids informed the king that if this fire was not extinguished, the person who lit it would rule over all of Ireland. The light of Christ Enraged, the king got into his chariot and raced to the fire with many armed warriors, ready to slay the person behind it. Before reaching the saint, the king sent a few messengers to speak with St. Patrick. However, after listening to the words of St. Patrick, some of the messengers were converted to Christianity. In other versions of the story, the messengers tried to extinguish the fire of St. Patrick, but were unable to do so. They believed it was some sort of superior magic and that St. Patrick was a powerful magician. Eventually St. Patrick spoke directly to the king, and while the chieftain did not immediately convert to Christianity, he was so impressed with St. Patrick that he gave the missionary permission to preach the Gospel to the native population. The ”light of Christ” subsequently conquered the land of Ireland, and St. Patrick was able to convert an entire nation to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It all began with a bold move by St. Patrick to light a fire that would go on to inflame the hearts of the Irish people. And today we celebrate…Wednesday, March 11Blessed Seán KearneyCourageously continued his ministry as a wanted man (1619-1653) Franciscan Priest and Martyr ![]() dominio público His life: + Seán (sometimes called John) was born in Cashel, Tipperary, Ireland. + He became a Franciscan Friar in Kilkenny, before moving to Louvain, Belgium, where he trained for the priesthood. + Ordained a priest in Brussels in 1642, Seán tried to return to Ireland, but he was arrested in London, tortured, tried and condemned to death. + A short time later, Seán escaped and eventually made his way to Wexford, Ireland. In the years that followed, he taught philosophy in Cashel, and also served as novice master and porter in other friaries, all the time living as a wanted man. + Father Seán was eventually arrested in Tipperary in 1653 for the crime of being a Catholic priest in England. He was hanged to death on March 11, 1653, and was beatified with other Irish martyrs in 1992. For prayer and reflection: “The Martyrs’ significance for today lies in the fact that their testimony shatters the vain claim to live one’s life or to build a model of society without an integral vision of our human destiny, without reference to our eternal calling, without transcendence.”—Pope Saint John Paul II at the beatification of the Martyrs of Ireland Spiritual bonus: On this day, we also remember Blessed Frano Gjini. A priest of the archdiocese of Durrës, Albania, he was later created abbot of Saint Lelezhdri in Mirdita and consecrated as a bishop in 1930. Chosen as the apostolic delegate of Albania in 1945 (after the previous apostolic delegate was not permitted back in the country) he was appointed bishop of Lezhë in 1946. Arrested by the communists later that same year, he was sentenced to death in January 1948 and executed on March 11. Blessed Frano was beatified with other Albanian martyrs in 2016. Prayer Almighty and merciful God, who brought your Martyr blessed Seán to overcome the torments of his passion, grant that we, who celebrate the day of his triumph, may remain invincible under your protection against the snares of the enemy. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen. Wednesday, March 11 Prayer for the Morning Jesus Christ is the new covenant: Glory to the Father, and to the Son, HymnMeter: 10 10 10 10This hymn can be sung to the tune used forAbide with Me How well I know that all our honesties In lightnings, you have handed down your law; Psalm 11989-96 Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the small-est letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place. (Mt 5:18) God’s law is not a set of arbitrary rules but the concrete shape given to the lasting covenant that God has made with human beings—broken many times by faithless people, kept from generation to generation by our God. God’s faithful constancy is an anchor in an ever-shifting world, where love declared today is spurned tomorrow, and all other certainties are blown away by the wind. Your word, O Lord, for ever By your decree it endures to this day; I will never forget your precepts Though the wicked lie in wait to destroy me Glory to the Father…. Word of GodDeuteronomy 11:18-21 Take these words of mine into your heart and soul. Bind them at your wrist as a sign, and let them be a pendant on your forehead. Teach them to your children, speaking of them at home and abroad, whether you are busy or at rest. And write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates, so that, as long as the heavens are above the earth, you and your children may live on in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers he would give them. Listen, my children. (cf. Prv 7:24) Canticle of Zechariah In your observance of the commandments of the Lord, your God, which I enjoin upon you, you shall not add to what I command you nor subtract from it. (Dt 4:2) Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; Through his holy prophets he promised of old He promised to show mercy to our fathers This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham: You, my child, shall be called the prophet In the tender compassion of our God Glory to the Father… Intercessions Let us seal the doorposts of our inner thoughts with the protective Word of God, just as the Israelites marked the doorposts of their houses with the saving blood of the Paschal lamb. So are we guarded from every enemy by constant return to prayer in moments of quiet: R/Stay with us, Lord. You have spoken your saving Word into our world since the dawn of time: You are ever faithful to your covenant: You have sealed the new covenant in the blood of Jesus Christ, your only Son: Personal intentions Our Father…. O God, you have loved us with a constancy that lies beyond the grasp of human imagination. Make us faithful as you are faithful, through Christ our Lord. |
